Blashford Lakes, Ringwood
Thursday February 9th 2017
This reserve is famous for its Woodland Hide, which uses tinted glass to allow very close views of the birds using the feeders.
Most are finches, such as these chaffinches.
Although smaller, goldfinches will often manage to keep the chaffinches away.
Greenfinches are bulky enough to displace most other birds.
But nothing will stand up to the dagger-like bill of a nuthatch.
