September 6th
The gales have blown all sorts of unusual birds into the area over the last 2 days but sadly none visible from the trail. A Curlew heard at dawn on the first day of the month was a welcome addition to the list.

September 8th
The first calm day for a while added Tree Pipit to the list with 2 or 3 around Downclose. The Harbour held 15 Sandwich Terns and the Med Gull tally in Albert's Bay rose to 6. The first Siskin of the autumn flew over calling.

September 16th
A long-awaited Spotted Flycatcher at Rodwell was the first I've seen on the trail in the last year. Not much else today apart from a few Chiffchaffs until I got to Downclose where the first 3 returning Brent Geese were in the harbour.

September 22nd
With the raptor migration in full swing it wasn't a great surprise to see a Hobby over Downclose this morning, but very pleasant nonetheless. Not many other migrants around apart from a few Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps and hundreds of Swallows and House Martins moving north in the northerly wind.

September 27th
Very little around today, apart from lots of Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps.
