Willow Warbler

Phylloscopus trochilis

In the Weymouth area we see far more Willow Warblers passing through in Spring and Autumn than stop to breed.

In April they can be one of the commonest small birds, especially on a misty morning when there is a "fall" of migrants.

In the Autumn they are most common in late August and early September, after which they are replaced by the slightly darker Chiffchaff.
