1821 born, baptised at Upwey on October 16th
1850 married Esther Bartlett, a widow, at St Nicholas Street Chapel, Melcombe Regis on 7 March. George's rank/occupation was given as Yeoman.
(Esther was born at Winterborne Abbas in 1821, her maiden name was Gale)
1851 census, George and Esther were living at Radipole, possibly at Causeway Farm. Esther's daughters, Louisa and Martha Bartlett, from her previous marriage were also living with them, aged 9 and 8. His occupation was given as farmer of 7 (or 9?) acres
1851 listed as a Market Gardener in the Hunt's Directory
1852-1871 listed as a Gardener in the Jury Lists for Radipole
1859 listed as a Shopkeeper in the Post Office Directory
1861 census, listed as 39 years old, a Dairyman living near Mill House, Radipole
1871 census, listed as 49 years old, a Gardener living at Radipole
1871 occupation given as Farmer on his son Alfred's marriage certificate
1874 occupation given as Farmer on his son Samuel's marriage certificate
1877 occupation given as Farmer on his son Walter's marriage certificate
1880 listed as a Shopkeeper in the Kelly's Directory
1881 census, 59 years old, living next to Myrtle Cottage at Radipole, a Farmer of 11 acres (Tumbledown Farm?)
1881 occupation given as Farmer on his daughter Esther's marriage certificate
1883 (June) occupation given as Farmer on his son Walter's marriage certificate
1883 (December) occupation given as Grocer on his son Frederick Charles' marriage certificate
1885 occupation given as Farmer on his son Robert's marriage certificate
1887 died, at Tumbledown Farm, buried at St Ann's.
The burials index for St Ann's records the date as 1884 - a transcription error
1889 still listed as a Shopkeeper in the Kelly's Directory

The Index of Wills for 1887 records that George left an estate of over £500 when he died. Many thanks to Paul Ford for alerting me to this.
1891 census, Esther, at 70 years old, was living two doors away from her son Frederick Charles on Weymouth Road (Radipole Lane?), with a lodger, Jane Greening, from her home village of Winterborne
1901 census, Esther, at 80 years old, was now living at Manor Farm with her son Frederick Charles
1911 census, Esther, at 90 years old, was still living with her son Frederick Charles (address not given)
1912 Esther died, at Causeway Farm, buried at St Ann's with George
