Dorset Walks

Ridgeway Hill

Sunset amongst Iron Age Burial Mounds

An atmospheric walk in one of the most exposed sites in Dorset.
We take an ancient trackway along the hills overlooking Weymouth and Maiden Castle, walking towards the Hardy Monument and the round barrows left here by Iron Age man.
This is one of the only sites in South Dorset that still holds a population of Corn Buntings. Once common throughout the county, modern agricultural practices have exterminated this bird from most of its former breeding sites.
This walk is timed to coincide with sunset on one of the shortest days of the year. Let's hope for dry weather!
